I’ve reached that stage in my freelance career where a lot of my clients are referrals. THIS. TOOK. FOREVER. and it’s another post for another day.
But today I want to share with you how I prepare for these referrals before they even come in.
So I offer a shit load of design skills and they will not sit properly on one resume without confusing the hell out of whoever is reading it. In order to solve this, I created a different resume template for each design skill that I offer with links to hidden pages on my online portfolio that only they can view depending on the design skill.
I have 1 main folder in my Google Drive called Diane Resume.
Within that folder are subfolders for every design skill I offer, ex: Web Design, UX Design, Content Writing, Interior Design.
Within each of those folders is a finished resume and coverletter ready to be slightly edited and tailored for each client but easily available to send away once a referral comes in.
Therefore- I am prepared before the referral even comes in and when the referral does come, I’m quick to respond and book that client.
Yas bitch. Be prepared.
