I’m at the end of week 1 for this fitness challenge through Diane Vanessa Fitness . My sister did her challenge last month and told me all about it so it motivated me to hop on the challenge this month. I have to say- it’s really fun!
Since I stopped training capoeira last October I’ve been on the hunt for a fitness activity to replace that high intensity form of training. This challenge definitely fills that gap for me and I may hop on the next month’s challenge as well.
But what I’ve learned from this week is mainly the need to find the sweet spot in terms of planning out my days.
For the whole week I’ve been dropping Estel off at pre-school, then going to the YMCA to do my workout challenge for the day, then to work. It means I don’t start working til about 9:30am and by 11 my body is tired and sore from the intense morning workout. Plus, because of the need to get to work on time, I tend to rush my workout. So today and for the remainder of next week, I will try going to work directly after dropping off Estel at school and then do my workout after.
The thought is, I will be more efficient with my work in the morning (which I am) and can power through a solid 6 hours of work.
THEN I can go to the gym before picking up Estel. This would also allow me to do the whole workout which can be close to 1.5 hours of training. So let’s see how this works out. Today is day 1. I’ll keep you posted.
Have a great weekend everyone!
