Some excited changes have manifested over the past couple of weeks. I joined the Future Holidays family as a Project Manager/Account Manager/Content Strategist.
Future Holidays is a digital agency that specializes in Shopify, eCommerce and UX. This has been my first week of settling in and trying to adjust to new processes and essentially new work entirely. Rather than be in the nitty gritty of design work, my brain is happily fed with all this strategy and client-time. It’s rather nice and there is so much opportunity for me to grow here.
That said, I still have my freelance clients that I have been tending to on a maintenance monthly basis but will refrain from taking on any new design projects at this time.
There are many reasons I am happy about this new avenue and one of them is that I do not have to give up the things I love most about freelancing- ie, flexibility and being location dependent.
I am not strapped to an office for the sake of “company culture” and I can still be available for any parenting troubleshooting like sick kids, attending activities, etc etc. So this also means being hyper diligent with my time and some projects I had been tending to will have to go. Like the online classes I was making for Teachable. These were coming along so painstakingly slow so it relieving to chop them off my list of initiatives.
My philosophy right now is to scale down to scale up. Simplify now, get really good at the new role and make it mine!
More to come.
